Arthur F. Jones, University of North Dakota

Arthur F. Jones, University of North Dakota
Statement: My broad experiences as an art administrator, scholar, curator, artist, and educator allow me to represent a wide range of professional constituencies nationally. In addition, I can effectively represent the geographic region of the upper northern plains. Through experience in academic administration, I know how to develop goals and strategic plans. I possess skills and accomplishment in the areas of management, budget, and development, having served as a board member of two community-based organizations in Grand Forks: the Marketing Services Partnership Advisory Board (funded by the Knight Foundation to increase effective marketing for cultural activities) and ArtWise (a nonprofit organization that seeks to increase art experiences for children). I also serve on the board of directors of the Ibram Lassaw Foundation in East Hampton, New York. One of my primary goals is to increase CAA’s diverse membership by extending the appeal of the organization to artists, as well as to professionals in the museum and art-education fields.

From 1990 to 1993, Jones served as the Kentucky editor of the New Art Examiner. Jones was a scholar in residence at the Pollock/Krasner House and Study Center in East Hampton, New York, in 1992, 1993, and 2001.
