Deadline: Mon, October 13th, 2014

The Society for Classical Studies (SCS) seeks proposals from academic institutions interested in hosting a 6-week seminar in summer 2015 during which 10 graduate students enrolled in programs in classical philology or ancient history will increase and improve their ability to use the art and material culture of the ancient Mediterranean world in their scholarship and teaching. The seminar, funded by a grant from the Leon Levy Foundation, will take place over dates to be selected by the host institution.

Interested institutions can find the complete call for proposals here. Proposals should be submitted as a PDF file in an email attachment to SCS executive director Adam Blistein (blistein@sas.upenn.edu) by 12:00 noon ET on October 13, 2014. An SCS committee consisting of its vice presidents for education and for publications and research, and a third scholar selected by those 2 officers, will review proposals and make its decision by November 10, 2014.
