The seventh triennial Symposium on Psychoanalysis and the Arts will be held in Florence from May 18-20, 2017. The conference brings together an international group of distinguished psychoanalysts and art historians to present papers on interdisciplinary topics and to discuss the sometimes contentious relationship between psychoanalysis and the arts. Among the many accomplished art historians participating in the event are David Freedberg and Debora Silverman. The site of the conference is Brunelleschi's Renaissance architectural monument, the Ospedale degli Innocenti.
