The Millay Colony Artist Residencies Deadline 10/1

Type: Residencies, Workshops, Exchanges [View all]
Posted by: The Millay Colony for the Arts
Deadline: Sun, October 1st, 2017

The Millay Colony for the Arts offers two-week to one-month residencies to six visual artists, writers and composers each month between the months of April and November. Nurturing the work of artists of all ages, from a range of cultures and communities, and in all stages of their artistic careers, the Colony offers comfortable private rooms, private studio spaces, all meals, and ample time to work in a quiet, pastoral atmosphere at our Austerlitz, NY campus.

In each discipline, decisions are made by juries of artists, critics and academics. The applicant’s work is presented anonymously to the jury and is considered solely on the merit of the artist statement and work sample.

Founded in 1973 on the home of Pulitzer Prize winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, The Millay Colony has provided residencies to 2,500 artists from all over the world. It is our mission to support artists! #TheHouseThatEdnaBuilt
