stARTup Art Fair LA 2018: Call for Independent Artists

Type: Exhibition Opportunities [View all]
Posted by: Startup Art Fair LLC
Deadline: Wed, November 15th, 2017

stARTup Art Fair Los Angeles is a juried contemporary hotel art fair for independent artists.

The fair returns for the third year to Los Angeles, January 26-28, 2018. Taking place the same weekend as Art Los Angeles Contemporary in Santa Monica, stARTup Art Fair is the only other LA satellite event that week where the public can view and acquire work from 50+ independent artists. At stARTup, artists will have access to the myriad of international collectors, curators, dealers, consultants, art writers, and designers who come to Los Angeles for a weekend of art.

stARTup Art Fair’s mission is to provide a marketplace that gives artists the power to present and sell work on their own terms. All sales proceeds belong 100% to the artists.

The deadline to apply is November 15, 2017. Those selected from the open application process will each take over a hotel room to present a solo show of their work. Our Selection Committee is a diverse range of art world professionals that includes:

Diana Al-Hadid, Renowned mixed media and installation artist, New York, NY

Andi Campognone, Director/Curator, Lancaster Museum of Art & History

Nathaly Chiarria, Independent Curator and Marketing Professional, Los Angeles, CA

George Lawson, Owner/Director, George Lawson Gallery, San Francisco, CA

Walter Maciel, Owner/Director, Walter Maciel Gallery, Culver City, CA

There are application and exhibition fees
