Peripheral Vision is an independent press dedicated to expanding critical dialogs about American contemporary art through journal and book publications. Founded by Texas critic Scott Gleeson in 2016, Peripheral Vision has commissioned 162,000 words of new criticism for 126 artists. Unlike other competition publications, we can generally accommodate 10-25% of applicants. Our opportunities are ideal for art faculty, graduate students, independent artists, and established mid-career artists underrepresented in critical publications.
