The Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA)  invites submissions from artists at all career levels for their 2018 national conference exhibition enttitled Art Speaks! Lend Your Voice!  The theme, which explores how artists impact current social and political climates, may be broadly interpreted from a political, personal or formal context. The exhibition runs concurrent with the 2018 CAA and WCA Conferences   in Los Angeles. Opening reception onThursday, February 22, 2018 at Arena One Gallery in Santa Monica.  A full color catalog will accompany the exhibition.

It is open to all self-identified women artists whose residence is in the USA. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces of work in any media per entry and may submit 2 separate entries. Video works are limited to 2 submissions. Work must be original and available for duration of exhibition that runs through 3/10/18.. Juror JILL MONIZ is an acclaimed curator, writer and cultural activist. In 2016, she mounted ’Work over School: Art from the Margins of the Inside’ at the Craft & Folk Art Museum and ’Signifying Form’ at The Landing Gallery in Los Angeles. She is currently working on ’Personal Legend: Charting Betye Saar’s Works on Paper’ at the Main Museum in LA. She previously served as chief curator at the California African American Museum. 

WCA is also hosting a  conference exhibition for young women artists aged 19-35 entitled Reality Sandwiches. It will take place at ArtShare LA in downtown Los Angeles and artist Alison Saar will jury it.  Deadline is Wednesday, 11/8/17.
