Brickscape is a six week artist residency in Charleston, WV, which culminates in an exhibition. Ten artists will be selected to have 24 hour access to a previously unoccupied historical space where they will create temporary, site-specific installation art.  Each artist will have a designated area in the space in which they will create an installation that responds to the history and culture of the location and/or the surrounding community. Preference will be given to proposals that provide an immersive or interactive environment that remains accessible to a diverse audience.  Artists working in all mediums are encouraged to apply. Of the ten artists, six will be chosen from the state of West Virginia while four will be chosen nationally. Selected artists will receive a $500 stipend and out-of-town artists will recieve housing.
