James May Gallery, a contemporary space in beautiful lakeside Algoma, Wisconsin is seeking a gallery intern starting June 1st for one year. We would prefer someone with an arts background preferably with a BFA or MFA but that is not required.

Included with the internship would be a two-bedroom apartment (one of the bedrooms was used as a studio space in the past), in exchange for 20 hours a week of work with the gallery.

Applications Due: April 21st 2018

Responsibilities would include but not limited to:

20 hours of work per week

Installation & de-installation of exhibitions

Attend First Friday openings

Gallery sitting

Good customer service

Assist in curating exhibitions

Housekeeping

Event planning

Social media upkeep

Other tasks depending on skill set

Helpful, but not required: Design experience
