PSU Faculty-Led Mexico: Guanajuato - Mixed-Media & Printmaking

Discover Guanajuato, a UNESCO World Heritage city, through art. You will

investigate how the rich heritage of Mexico translates into your creative practice at Piramidal Gráfica, a printmaking studio, gallery, and teaching institution in Guanajuato. Working both in and outside the studio, using historical and contemporary approaches to art-making, you will have an opportunity to deepen your art, and your understanding of Mexican culture.

Learn Monotype printmaking techniques and explore drawing and painting as instruments of analysis and poetic expression. Observational drawing and

maintaining a sketchbook will be incorporated into your daily art practice in the studio and on field trips to local museums, galleries and local places of interest. Rich with Pre-Columbian, Colonial and Revolutionary history, Guanajuato offers students a rare opportunity to explore the art and culture of a unique area.

Notably, it is the birthplace of Diego Rivera and other important artists.
