Smarthistory media workshop funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
(five graduate student scholarships available)

Smarthistory invites applications for an intensive two-day hands-on cultural heritage media workshop for graduate students, art historians, conservators, and museum professionals. Participants will learn how to produce high-quality Smarthistory-style videos with a focus on storytelling, audio and video editing using inexpensive, easy-to-use software, and online publishing. Other topics to be covered will include image rights, recommendations for high-quality but affordable equipment, and utilizing analytics for assessment.

The workshop will take place in Manhattan from August 8-10, 2018.

Participation is free but limited to 10 art historians, museum professionals, or scholars or professionals from related fields. Graduate students are strongly encouraged to apply. Five graduate students will receive a food and travel allowance.
