WHAT & WHERE?
The City of Las Vegas Gallery Program is requesting miniature quilts by artists in the United States for a five-week exhibit in the Las Vegas City Hall Chamber Gallery.
This is a national curated exhibit opportunity to show your work. Las Vegas has a vibrant growing art community. The highlight of this exhibit is to show how artists merge the traditional and functional craft of quilting with creating fine art. How does the media of quilting relate to the idea artists may have about patriotism in our current times?
Small works will be considered. Two dimensional works cannot be larger than 24” horizontally x 48” vertically, and three-dimensional sculptural quilts cannot be larger than 16” x 16” x 24”. Three-dimensional works must be able to be shown on a pedestal with a cover and two-dimensional works must be able to hang from a cable and hook system (walls are marble and therefore nothing can be secured to the walls). If the quilt must be hung from a dowel or pole, it should be ready to hang and be included in shipment or drop off, artwork(s) to be included in the exhibition. Note that hanging hooks are are 1/4" in diameter if/when including a dowel rod for installation. Shipping, through FedEx, may be available.
HOW TO APPLY:
To submit your artwork(s) go to http://artsregistrylas.vegas/. Submit your work to the Patriotic Threads: National Call for Miniature Fine Art Quilts opportunity. Please submit only one entry per submittal in order to include separate entry title, medium, price and description information. Maximum submissions are three per artist. There is no entry fee associated with submitting to this exhibition. An artist/curator with expertise in fine art and/or quilting will be curating this exhibition.
CALENDAR FOR NOTIFICATION & EXHIBIT DATES:
Notification for accepted and unaccepted artwork will be completed via email by Friday, May, 18, 2018.

Please note, the mailroom at this location is open Monday -Thursday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and closed Friday through Sunday.
Exhibition dates are scheduled for Thursday, June 7 to Monday, July 16, 2018. A public reception will take place on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, 4–6 p.m. Work that is not picked up following the close of the exhibition will be packed and shipped back to artists on or around July 24, 2018.
