ALL artists and writers applying at the 6/15/2018 fellowship deadline are automatically considered for one of 25 VSC Fellowships. Every VSC residency includes a private room, private studio space, and all meals.

In addition to our VSC Fellowships open to ALL, we have sponsored awards for parent-artists and -writers, visual artists from historically underserved populations, women 2D artists, artists working in traditional craft media, visual artists and American poets with demonstrable financial need, fellows from Cave Canem and Kundiman, Oregon artists, SAIC grads & Chicagoland artists, and more! The Vermont Studio Center is a vibrant, diverse community of artists situated in Vermont’s northern Green Mountains. Each month we welcome more than 50 writers and visual artists from across the country and around the globe to our historic campus along the Gihon River in the town of Johnson, Vermont. Residencies range from 2 to 12 weeks and offer residents unrestricted time for creative work, along with daily opportunities to engage with fellow artists. Our monthly program includes slide nights, readings, open studios, gallery openings, and optional studio visits and conferences with our Visiting Artists and Writers.
