DESCRIPTION
The fifth edition of our SOLO Exhibition Award Call for Entries - SOLO V - is now officially open accepting applications until July 31st! Emerging and mid-career photographers working primarily on film or with other analogue processes are invited to submit up to 20 works for consideration by juror Joel Sternfeld. The winner will be awarded a 2-month solo exhibition, free participation to Joel’s October 20-21 Master Workshop in Vancouver, Canada + a $500 traveling stipend, and loads of global exposure through a feature interview, an archived FotoFilmic exhibition page & much more! Two Runners-Up will also be published.

AWARD

EVALUATION CRITERIA
All applications will be personally reviewed by juror Joel Sternfeld (no shortlisting). This award represents a rare opportunity to have unknown or lesser known work being endorsed by a major artistic figure: photographers are encouraged to carefully consider their work edition when entering. Coherency of practice, aesthetic maturity and critical depth will all be key factors in Joel’s evaluation of all works entered.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to photographers 18 years of age & more worldwide
REQUIREMENTS
This is an analogue only photography call: only work shot on film in any format or using other analogue media/processes is accepted. Submissions captured digitally will be disqualified without notice. Scanned and post-edited negatives/originals using image editing softwares such as Photoshop remain eligible to be entered.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
Work submitted must be exhibition ready i.e. present itself as a coherent whole. Photographers are allowed to submit edits from different series/bodies of work for up to 20 images total but need to provide separate artist statement paragraphs for juror Joel Sternfeld’s reviewal.
