Byrdcliffe Artist Residencies offer uninterrupted time and space for artists, writers, composers, and creatives in all disciplines with fully and partially funded residencies. Our serene mountain community is 2.5 hours north of NYC in the mountains of Woodstock NY. Byrdcliffe’s AiR program is particularly beneficial to those who find it restorative to live in a simple, communal environment in close proximity to natural beauty.

Monthly artists may choose between communal living consisting of a private bedroom in a shared building with a separate private studio OR apply for private live/work cottages in close proximity. Cottages may accommodate couples depending on their practices. Regretfully Byrdcliffe is unable to accommodate young children at this time. Artists are invited to participate in optional activities such as open studio, work-share, and communal dinners or are free to work in solitude during their entire stay.
