Kala’s AIR program is a highly subsidized fee-based residency that provides 24-hour access to exceptional equipment while also facilitating a sense of creative community. Resident artists receive access to our communal printmaking studio and electronic media center, individual storage space including a cubby and flat file, possible exposure on Kala’s website and in other exhibitions at Kala or outside exhibition spaces, and participation in a vital, international artistic community. Artists also receive a 20% discount on classes and private tutoring offered by Kala. Through this combination, artists are equipped with the resources to focus, take risks, and make connections in their work. 

Kala encourages collaboratives, emerging, mid-career, and senior artists to apply and is pleased to offer special residency rates to collaborative artists, emerging and senior artists.
