Call to Artists!

HOME-Artist Residency- Come to the northeast!

This is an artist residency open to those currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an MFA program. The length of each residency is two weeks in June, July, or August.

The goal of the residency is to provide the artist with an opportunity to see and explore the city of Philadelphia, either as a brief chnage of environment or to consider the Northeast as a potential place to live and work in the future. Stay in Michael and Katie’s house in East Kensington, North Philadelphia, a neighborhood full of artistic minds living together in a progressing, urban environment. This is a small space, idela for making drawings and smaller work, doing research, exploring the local landscape and seeing the art scene of Philly. This residency stresses process over product, the twoweek period ending with an informal, public presentation, allowing the resident to share their experience and work with local artists and community.

Transportation is the responsibility of the artist. A room in the house, a bicycle, as well as a small basement studio with tools will be provided free of charge.

There are two cats in the house. Vegan eating is strongly promoted. Coffee, bread, and small food items will be provided. And there is a back yard!

If interested, please email Michael Secor at michael.secor@hotmail.com or Katie Knoeringer at knoeringer.katie@gmail.com by May 1st of this year.
