CAA News
We all know that health insurance is a major issue within the American artistic community. With the bulk of our peers working sporadically and/or with multiple organizations during their career, it’s difficult for artists and art historians to have consistent, affordable healthcare. This is why CAA is partnering with Fractured Atlas, a not-for-profit arts service organization, through their Open Arts Network. CAA members throughout the country can now have free access to low-cost healthcare options through the service of Fractured Atlas, a reputable organization that has been referring visual artists and art historians to affordable healthcare insurance and services for many years.
In addition to affordable healthcare insurance, Fractured Atlas also provides CAA members with access to various free workshops and seminars, an online events calendar, a networking/support forum for artists, and other benefits and services. Interested CAA members can enroll free of charge by contacting Member Services at memsvcs@collegeart.org or 212-691-1051, ext. 12.
Aside from the obvious benefits of helping CAA members address critical healthcare needs, there is another big advantage to teaming up with Fractured Atlas: strength in numbers. By banding together through Fractured Atlas’ Open Arts Network, artists can achieve the financial and negotiating leverage needed to capture the attention of the insurance industry. Together we are a force that cannot be ignored.
