Art of Fine Craft 2009: [kuh-nek-tiv] is a biennial conference presented by Lux Center for the Arts and the Department of Art at Nebraska Wesleyan University on October 1 and 2, 2009. The conference provides an opportunity to connect, learn and explore.
Our goal is to create a dialogue about the connections between media and maker, experiences in the contemporary world, and the vitality of centuries-old craft traditions in modern society.
This year, presenters will include Jason Briggs, Victoria Goro-Rapoport and Jess Starkel. Our keynote speaker is Sonya Clark, whose visit is sponsored by the Nebraska Wesleyan Forum Series. The conference will include demonstrations, lectures and exhibitions.
The conference is funded in part by grants from the Nebraska Humanities Council and the Nebraska Arts Council.
