The Colby College Museum of Art will hold a fall symposium highlighting outstanding research related to American art and pedagogy. "American School: American Art and Pedagogy" takes place on October 10, 2009, with a keynote address preceding on the evening of October 9 by artist Fred Wilson. Speakers will include: Wendy Bellion, Huey Copeland, Rachael DeLue, Elizabeth Hutchinson, David Lubin, Angela Miller, Richard Meyer, Kenneth Myers, and Donna Cassidy (moderator). This symposium is held in conjunction with the exhibition "Art at Colby: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Colby College Museum of Art," which features objects from the museum’s rich collections of American, European, Asian, and contemporary art. Attendees are invited to attend a reception and exhibition viewing on October 9. This symposium is free and open to the public.
