Residential grants will be offered as part of the Getty Research Institute's new initiative "Los Angeles Architecture, 1940–1990." The institute's Special Collections–which contain the photographic archive of Julius Shulman; papers and plans of Pierre Koenig, John Lautner; and photographs by Camilo Vergara–offer a unique resource for scholarly investigation. We invite scholars interested in all aspects of the city's architectural history and urban development in this period to apply.
These grants are for established scholars, writers, independent researchers, or pre- and postdoctoral candidates. Applications are welcome from researchers of all nationalities who are working in the arts, humanities, or social sciences.
