Residencies will be awarded to a total of four to eight American artists. We accept applications from individual artists and from artist-couples (both must be accepted).
Session dates: Arrive Wednesday, June 3, 2020, and depart Wednesday, July 29, 2020.
Application deadline: 11:59pm, Eastern Standard Time, February 1, 2020.
Awards announced: March 1st.
The residency is housed in the medieval riverside village of Léhon in a “Petite Cité de Caractère”, graced by a medieval abbey and its gardens and by the ruins of the oldest fortress in Brittany on a hill overlooking the village. Léhon is a short walk from the city of Dinan, which holds the coveted designation "Cité d’Art et d’Histoire" and is close to Dinard, Saint-Malo, Mont Saint-Michel, and Rennes. The fishing villages and beaches of the Emerald Coast are also nearby. Our artists have free access to the Léhon abbey and its gardens.
Competitive residencies are open to practicing non-student American visual artists and artist-couples, regardless of their affiliation. Application is free. Detailed information, including the online application form, is available at www.mica.edu/Artists_Residency_in_Brittany.
Please forward this email to any American artists who might be interested in applying.
