Exhibition Call for Submissions, Theme Details:

If a ’social imaginary’ is a term that’s understood as the set of values, attitudes and practices (Charles Taylor, 2003) through which a particular group may imagine themselves, how might various climate change narratives and imaginaries be impacted by nostalgic desires for past practices and ways of being?

For this mixed media exhibition, we are looking for work that responds to or engages with the questions:

-To what extent  / how does nostalgia impact your ability / willingness to embrace new ways of being / acting / travelling / leisure or consumption at local, regional or even global levels?

- When does fond remembrance benefit or detract from our own sustainable development goals or the seventeen published United Nations ’Sustainable Development Goals’?  (https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/)

- How can we use research creation to investigate and express climate change narratives and ideas through visual / creative arts engagement?

Please submit work, in response to the theme above, in the following forms:

2D visual arts that can be hung on a wall including photography (traditional or digital), drawing, printmaking, mixed media, digital art, and / or documentation of street art and social practice, and / or poetry, creative writing.
