KITCHEN – International Photography Exhibition

Entry deadline:  August 1, 2021

Exhibition dates: September 10 - 29, 2021

Open to all photographers internationally. All photographic media is welcome.

We look at the behind the scenes of food in the upcoming Kitchen exhibition — takes on the real life scenarios, and the somewhat capricious and gritty side of food preparation. From the roadside diners to the fine dining establishments to the kitchens in our homes, our food system and relationship with food has shifted in this changing world. We go for take out, hit the restaurant where someone else is preparing and serving our meals from the kitchens of our favorite places to eat. We’ve tried new food trends and new recipes, learned how to bake bread, how to grow vegetables, we have become reacquainted with our appliances and our cooking skills. We have many more dishes to do, messier kitchens yet more satisfying and nutritious meals. We work with what we have in the kitchen for food preparation, we go out to shop for the home table, and often using the kitchen as inspiration we photograph food as subject matter. Images from the kitchen, people interacting with food and places associated with food are what make up the images in this upcoming exhibition. Food styling, assembled still-life shots, images of food as subject matter, photographs using domestic spaces and commercial kitchen places, all approaches to food and food related photography are welcome. Submit photographs for this upcoming exhibition and represent your take on the kitchen.

Selection will be based upon the individual images submitted by each artist, theme based entries are not necessary. A brief artist statement is optional.

Selected artists will have their work featured in the exhibition and online.

GESTURE – International Portrait Photography Exhibition

Exhibition dates: October 1 - 29, 2021

Open to all photographers internationally. All photographic media is welcome.

We all have the people in our lives that are important to us personally and also find people who are visually interesting. Documenting the likeness of these people as well as capturing the pure personality of a person through a range of emotional gestures is a phenomenal experience. The act of capturing a moment in time through taking a photograph of someone is one of the highest gestures that a person can give. This exhibition represents the human likeness in all of its forms, whether it is a documentary approach, a snapshot genre, if it is a fashion statement, an editorial statement, or simply a straight forward compositional body study, we are looking to exhibiting the photographs of a wide range of people.

Selection will be based upon the individual images submitted by each artist, theme based entries are not necessary. A brief artist statement is optional.

Selected artists will have their work featured in the exhibition and online.

To enter: Submit .jpeg images to the gallery via email, and follow the online instructions found on our http://www.mwcponline.com/gesture-entry.html
