Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide, a scholarly, refereed digital journal founded in 2002 and devoted to the study of art and visual culture of the long nineteenth-century across the globe, is accepting applications for an executive editor.  

 

We seek candidates with a broad and inclusive view of nineteenth-century art and visual culture. They should be detail-oriented, organized, and willing to collaborate with authors and other members of the editorial team.

 

The executive editor will work closely with the managing co-editors, the reviews editor, the digital art history editor, the copyeditors, the web developer, and the access and preservation advisor. Responsibilities include:

 

·       Review submissions as needed

·       Manage publication deadlines and editorial meetings

·       Coordinate copyediting of the final submission for the articles and New Discoveries contributions

·       Coordinate final images for the articles and New Discoveries submissions

·       Oversee the final stages of production of two issues per year and periodic special summer issues

Ø  Assemble and upload for web developer all copyedited materials for the articles, New Discoveries, and book and exhibition reviews

Ø  Review uploaded issue before final publication

 

This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in online publishing and to develop your professional network. We welcome applications from emerging professionals as well as those further along in their careers.

 

All positions on NCAW’s editorial board are voluntary.
