ITSLIQUID Group is pleased to announce the open call for the 7th edition of BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY 2025, an international exhibition dedicated to photography, painting, video art, installation/sculpture, and performance. The event will be held at ITSLIQUID Art Space – Barcelona, from November 22 to December 01, 2025.

Since its foundation in 2001, ITSLIQUID Group has organized more than 350 international exhibitions and events, involving over 10,000 artists across more than 60 cities worldwide. The platform has collaborated with prestigious institutions such as the CCCB – Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, the NCCA – National Center for Contemporary Arts in Moscow, the MuMo – Museum Montanelli in Prague, and the MUST Museum in Lecce, as well as numerous galleries and private foundations.

Thanks to its partnership with Sedition, ITSLIQUID has presented works by internationally renowned masters including Bill Viola and Refik Anadol, offering high-level opportunities for emerging, mid-career, and established artists to gain global visibility.

BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY 2025 examines the complex relationships between body and space, as well as the hybridization of identities within cultural, physical, social, and urban contexts in contemporary society. The exhibition is articulated through two main sections: MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES.

MIXING IDENTITIES explores the hidden dimensions of our identities through an immersive experience that delves into the intricate labyrinths of human consciousness. The human body is presented as a dynamic system that connects us with other bodies and spaces, acting as a powerful medium of communication with its own language and infinite forms of expression.

FUTURE LANDSCAPES investigates abstract, boundless, and conceptual environments associated with freedom and limitless expansion. Primarily experienced with the mind, these spaces challenge traditional boundaries, transforming surfaces into open flows of pure ideas. This section focuses on the interaction between body, mind, and soul, as well as the evolving relationships between human identity, the city, space, and the ground.

The fair invites artists, photographers, video makers, and performers to participate in this international platform that encourages dialogue, exchange, and collaboration across disciplines. The exhibition aims to highlight how contemporary art can serve as a bridge between personal experience and collective memory, fostering connections across cultures and perspectives.

To take part in the selection, applicants are invited to send their CV/biography, images of their works (or still images for video art), and links to videos, films, or performances, as well as a brief description of the submitted works, by email to director@itsliquid.com.
