New Country: Ruralism in Contemporary Art is an exhibition featuring works of all media that reference and/or are inspired by current or historical ideas of rural life and the pastoral in American culture. All works must original, completed since 2007 and not previously shown in the Claypool-Young Art Gallery. There is no entry fee for this exhibition. August 17, 2012 is the postmark deadline. Review will be by digital images or videos only (no slides). Submissions must include digital images representing up to five pieces, image list (artwork title, date, media, dimensions, and value), artist statement and bio. Send all materials to: New Country Exhibition, attn: Jennifer Reis, Gallery Director, 108 Claypool-Young Art Bldg., Morehead State University, Morehead, KY 40351. To submit by email, send all materials as attachments with the subject line “NC entry” to email@example.com (e-mailed entries must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17).
