Call for Contributing Writers: Geometric Magazine

Type: Calls For Papers [View all]
Posted by: Geometric Magazine
Deadline: Mon, November 30th, 2026

Geometric Magazine (geometricmagazine.com) is an independent platform mapping contemporary geometric and abstract art: artist profiles, exhibitions worldwide, and a growing Journal. We are now opening the Journal to contributing writers.

We are looking for art-history students, emerging curators, critics and writers to help us map geometric, concrete, optical and systems-based art, especially from your own part of the world. We want fresh, local perspectives, brought together from everywhere.

What we publish:

• Spotlight: conversations with artists working in geometric form

• Essay: short pieces on ideas, movements and the field

• Review: exhibition reviews, wherever you are

Pieces run 800–1,500 words, in English. No fixed commitment: a single piece is welcome.

What we offer: a byline and your own contributor page; promotion to our audience (Instagram and newsletter); editorial feedback and English-language editing; and a credit for your CV. This is an unpaid contribution, and we want to be clear about that. The value is visibility, a portfolio piece, and a part in building a growing international publication.

To apply, email hello@geometricmagazine.com with the subject "Contributing Writer: [Your Name]" and include:

• 1–2 writing samples or links (published or not)

• what you work on or care about in geometric / abstract art

• why you would like to write for us

• 1–2 topic ideas you would pitch

Rolling applications; first review by 30 November 2026.

You keep copyright to your work; Geometric Magazine receives a non-exclusive right to publish. Writers are responsible for securing image permissions.
