The String Room Gallery at Wells College (Aurora, NY) is seeking submissions for a Juried Regional Exhibition, opening Feb 24, 2022. We would like to reconnect and celebrate with the region we call home: the ancestral lands of the Haudenosaunee, in Upstate New York. Any artists identifying as residents of this area are welcome to submit up to 3 pieces of 2D, 3D, installation, and/or video work.
This exhibition will be juried and curated by students in our upcoming class, “Professional Practices in the Visual Arts,” and administered by the co-directors of the String Art Gallery.
The String Room Gallery is located on Wells College’s waterfront setting along Cayuga Lake, just north of Ithaca, NY. For more information on the Gallery, visit https://www.wells.edu/string-room-gallery.
The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2022. We will notify all artists by Feb 3. Artwork should be received by the gallery by Feb 18. Each accepted artist will receive a modest stipend for artwork delivery; however, we request that you not submit unless hand delivery or regional shipping on our timeline is possible.
Requested materials:
Artist Bio (100 words)
Artist Statement (200 words)
CV, 2 page maximum, with preferred method of contact
PDF of 2-3 digital images (jpg-format) or Vimeo/Youtube link per submitted artwork
Image list (including title, media, size, date completed for each work, and intended mode of delivery)
Please ZIP files together (*no larger than 10M, Mac compatible preferred).
Materials for consideration will be accepted only through this submission portal.
There is no entry fee.
