Museum Committee
Description:
The Museum Committee represents the interests of public and private institutions in the visual arts sector, in order to exercise influence and share efforts on issues of mutual importance.
Recent Projects:
In 1998 the Museum Committee drafted a statement for the President's signature concerning actions by museums that go against CAA resolutions, such as the use of funds obtained through deaccessioning for uses other than the purchase of works of art. In addition the Committee is involved in the development of standards and guidelines such as the Guidelines for Museums and Outside Contractors. Since 1997, the Committee has organized a session for each annual meeting.
