APPLICATIONS FOR THE SPRING 2026 LOW SEASON ARTIST RESIDENCY ARE NOW OPEN!

The residency dates are APRIL 30th- MAY 10th. 

Applications due- February 28th
Artist announcement- March 22nd

Low Season is a short-term residency that allows artists to recharge, create, and connect with the local community during the low season of Block Island, RI.

One artist will be selected. This season, we welcome Ben Chaffee, the Associate Director and Curator of Visual Arts in the Center for the Arts (CFA), Wesleyan University, as juror and visiting critic!

The Spring 2026 artist receives:
-Free lodging and breakfast at the Old Town Inn for the duration of the residency
-$1000 stipend for living expenses
-Travel stipend to cover the Block Island Ferry to and from the island
-Virtual studio visit with a visiting critic
-An individual page on the Low Season website with a portfolio of your work

The Spring 2026 artist provides:
-A workshop for the Block Island School art students or the local community
-A public artist talk
-Own transportation to Point Judith, RI, to catch the ferry
