One focus of the Museum's collection (USA 20th/21st-c. art) is fine handmade objects created in the WNC region.

The Windgate Intern will aid curatorial staff in accomplishing critical tasks related to growth, management, and accessibility of the craft collection, including:
-Curate an exhibition focusing on the craft collection
-Research/write catalogue entries focused on craft for the Museum's first-ever collections catalogue
-Research/write gallery labels/educational resources focused on craft
-Inventory/catalogue craft objects
-Contribute to craft section of Collection Growth Plan

From these experiences, the intern will enhance his or her knowledge of craft, curatorial practice, educational theory and practice, and arts management.

Schedule: Up to 500 hours (full time fall 2017 or spring 2018 semester, OR part time academic year 2017-2018).

Compensation: $10/hour
