Starry Night Residency in New Mexico

The Starry Night Residency Program provides artists, writers, and curators with the opportunity to live and work within a small, creative community.  Located in the downtown historic hot springs district of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, the program is a place where our participants can find quiet solitude and focus on their work. In operation from May through September, residencies are a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 8 weeks. The residency includes a private, fully furnished apartment with private bathroom and kitchen, shared studio space, and courtyard with gardens, barbecue, and campfire area. Emerging artists, writers, and arts administrators are encouraged to apply.  Participants may apply to bring their partners or a creative team member for the duration of their residency. There is no application fee.

Eligibility: Emerging and established visual artists, artist teams, writers, researchers and curators.

Financial Aid: Based on merit and documented need, there is limited financial aid available. Financial aid requests cannot exceed more than 50% of fees for residency, and cannot include costs of travel, etc.

Residency fees: The cost for residency is $900 per week.  Participants may apply to bring their partner, spouse, or creative partner for an additional $300 per week.  Payment plans are available, and early consideration is available upon request.
