OPEN DOOR THIRTEEN (December 2nd– 30th, 2017)
Rosalux Gallery (Minneapolis, MN) announces a national call for entries for it’s 13th annual Open Door juried group exhibition. Open to all US residents working in any 2D/ 3D media and video. Only works completed within the past two years are eligible.
JUROR: DANIELLE KRYSA, aka THE JEALOUS CURATOR
Danielle Krysa has a BFA in Visual Arts, and a post-grad in graphic design. She is the writer/curator behind the contemporary art site, The Jealous Curator (est.2009). Danielle has curated shows from Washington DC to Los Angeles, San Francisco to Toronto. In 2014 she published two books, titled “Creative Block” and “Collage”. Her third book, “Your Inner Critic Is A Big Jerk” was released in October 2016, and she is currently working a new book due out Fall 2018. Danielle has also had the great pleasure of speaking at TEDx, PIXAR, Creative Mornings, CreativeLive, and was interviewed for several video segments on oprah.com.
The Jealous Curator has been featured by Fast Company, The Huffington Post, Oprah Magazine, Brain Pickings, Communication Arts Magazine, Glamour Paris, and more.
Exhibition Dates: December 2nd-30th, with an opening reception December 9th, 7-10pm

Drop-off in person: Monday, November 27th, 5-7pm
Shipped By: January 5th
Entries must be submitted online no later than midnight Oct 27th, 2017. Late applications will not be considered. Submit application at: rosaluxgallery.submittable.com/submit/93784/open-door-thirteen
Required Application Materials: (all below written materials should be in Word or PDF format)
> Artist Statement, brief (no more than 1 page)
> Resume, (no more than 1 page)
> Three images of works completed within the past two years. Save images as JPEG files,
72dpi in size, longest dimension less than 2000 pixels.
> If you have a video to submit, please include a link in the “description” area to a youtube or vimeo sample of less than 3 minutes (alternately juror will only view first 3 minutes).
> $35 entry fee.
ACCEPTANCE
If your work is accepted, shipped work must arrive at Rosalux Gallery no later than 4pm, November 29th, 2017. Hand delivered work can be dropped off Monday, November 27th from 5-8pm. Accepted work must be ready to hang or display in a professional manner.
Artists are responsible for shipping costs both ways with the return shipping paid for ahead of time. Pack securely. No use of Styrofoam packing pellets (bubble wrap acceptable). No glass on framing of wall-based work, plexiglass only. Work that arrives at gallery damaged will be returned un-displayed. Rosalux Gallery is not responsible for work damaged in transit.
Unsold work will be packed by Rosalux Gallery in the shipping containers they arrived in, and returned promptly to the artists in early January of 2018.
Pick-up of work is January 1st, 2018 from Noon till 4pm. Rosalux Gallery will not store work past the pick-up time.

SALES
Work does not have to be for sale. Sale prices are determined by the artist. 65% of sale price goes to artist, 35% to Rosalux Gallery. All work must be the property of the artist in order to be available for sale.
INSURANCE
Rosalux Gallery does not provide insurance for any piece during the Open Door show though great care will be taken in handling your work. Rosalux Gallery recommends the work be insured during shipping, as the artist bears the full responsibility for loss and damage to art while in transit. Rosalux Gallery retains the right to decide which work is included in exhibition.
IMAGE USE
By entering the competition, selected artists grant Rosalux Gallery rights to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the gallery web site for promotional purposes only.
NOTIFICATION
Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than November 6th, 2017.
