Posted by: ARC: Artist Residency Chattanooga
Deadline: Sat, December 1st, 2018

Description:
Our Short Term Artist Residency (S.T.A.R.) is a support program for artists who are not able or interested in committing to all the requirements of our full-length featured residency. We provide lodging and select opportunities for lecture/workshop/exhibition depending on available local resources and the applicant’s interest.

Duration of residency:
Residents choose between 3 days and 3 weeks.

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance:
The STAR program is open to creative residents of the United States living outside the greater Chattanooga area working in any medium except metal, glass, and those needing a printmaking facility. Limited facilities are available depending on studio needs. We’re happy to assist with documentation, guidance, research, coordinating studio visits and networking with local arts community, and connecting to area spaces, organizations, and museums.

Accommodation:
Artists receive a private room in a shared house; furnished living and kitchen spaces, hi-speed internet, bike, shared bathroom, parking, washer/dryer, bedding/pillows/towels, guide to downtown galleries, museums, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and events.

Studio/ workspace:
We can accommodate artists working in most mediums; Limited facilities are available depending on tool/studio needs of the artist.

Fees and support:
There is no fee to apply, however residency fees apply once accepted. Artists will be responsible for travel, materials & supplies, special tools, and most meals. Limited financial aid is available and can be discussed upon acceptance.

Expectations towards the artist:
We don’t have any program requirements of STAR residents (such as a workshop or lecture). This studio residency is designed to give the artist time to focus, however they may see fit.

Application information:
There is no deadline; applications are accepted on a rolling basis. More information on how to apply at the application page. https://www.arcresidency.org/star
