The fourth Morrissey Gallery porfolio exchange at St. Ambrose University explores the theme, Moving Pictures, in conjunction with the next year’s College of Arts and Sciences annual theme of Visual Narratives. The portfolio will be exhibited in the Morrissey Gallery in the spring of 2019. The Morrissey Gallery is a set of glass-covered showcases outside the entrance to the Allaert Auditorium - where performances catering to all ages adn diverse audiences are held. Following the exhibition this portfolio will be reserved for exhibition on campus and in the community and a second portfolio will be donated to the university’s Special Collections. The remainder of the editions will be distributed to participating artists.

Theme: Printmaking’s history has been interwoven with visual narratives in various ways including illustrations of religious texts, poster art, and zines to name a few. It is the intent of this portfolio to explore the theme of Moving Pictures as it relates to both the illustration of time and space in a story and also the emotive quality of an image. We encourage artists to create comic panels, storyboards, or individual prints. The portfolio is open to all print media including digital prints. Giclee reproductions will not be accepted.

The paper size for the edition is 14 x 18 inches (vertical or horizontal) and the edition size is 18-20 (TBD in June 2018). Artists are responsible for shipping their prints to SAU and there is no fee to participate. SAU will cover the shipping costs of the completed portfolios.
