Art Yellow Book 2018:  the International Exhibition and Experimental Documentary Film

“Artist Book Their DIY Art Space”

CICA Museum invites artists to submit works for consideration for the project “Art Yellow Book 2018,” the international exhibition and experimental documentary film featuring visual artists worldwide. The documentary film will feature 2-minute promotional/demo/experimental videos made by artists.

CICA Museum’s experimental project “Art Yellow Book” provides a unique art space for artists. Art Yellow Book aims to create a space where individual artists can freely express themselves and become media themselves. We explore various media including print, film, online, and physical space to showcase Art and Artists.

Selected works will be printed in 10×15 inches, framed, and installed by our curators & assistants. If requested by the artist, works can be printed and framed in larger sizes. Additional fees may apply.

-Video & Interactive Art
We will provide projectors and DVD/DIVX players for the show. Multiple single-channel works will be screen through a projector. Our curators & assistants will install your work(s) according to your installation guidelines. If the work is required to be screened through a projector exclusively, or more than two projectors/monitors are needed, please indicate the special requirements in the submission email. Additional fees may apply.

-Painting & Installation Art
The artist is responsible for the shipment and delivery of his/her physical work to and from CICA Museum, as well as all related expenses. The painting should be no larger than 39 inch (1 m) on the longest side, and the installation piece should be no larger than 59x59x79 inches (1.5 x 1.5 x 2 m, w x l x h). The work that needs to be mounted on the wall should not exceed 10 kg.

*Exhibition Dates: September 21 – October 7, 2018

*How to submit your work:
– Please send us up to 3 direct links to video and/or up to 5 JPG images (100-500 kilobytes per image recommended), and/or text (up to 500 words). Please email them to “cicamuseum.submission@gmail.com.”
– Please write “Submission: Art Yellow Book 2018 – Category – Artist’s Name” in the subject line of your email.

If your work is selected, you will be required to pay the printing & show maintenance fee: $60 (USD) per physical work/installation work/video work, and $55 per photograph/2D digital art.

아트 옐로 북 2018: 국제전 및 실험 다큐멘터리 필름

“아티스트들의 DIY 전시 공간”

CICA 미술관 국제전 및 실험 다큐멘터리 필름 “Art Yellow Book 2018”에 참여하실 아티스트들을 공모합니다. 다큐멘터리에서는 작가들이 직접 제작한 2분 프로모셔널/데모/실험 영상이 수록됩니다.

CICA 미술관의 실험 프로젝트 “아트 옐로 북”은 아티스트들에게 독특한 전시 공간을 제공합니다. “아트 옐로 북”은 아티스트가 직접 자신을 표현하고 스스로 미디어가 될 수 있는 공간이 되고자 합니다. 전시 공간, 프린트, 영상, 온라인 등 다양한 매체를 통해 아티스트가 보다 관객에게 가까이 다가갈 수 있는 방법을 모색하고 있습니다.

선정된 작품은 10×15 inch (25.4cm x 38.1cm) 사이즈로 출력되어 프레이밍되며 CICA 미술관 큐레이터와 스텝이 설치합니다. 다른 사이즈로 프린트를 원하실 경우 지원 이메일에 명시하여 주시기 바랍니다.

– 영상 및 인터렉티브 아트
전시를 위한 프로젝터, DVD/DIVX 플레이어 등이 지원되며 작품은 CICA 미술관의 큐레이터들이 작가님의 가이드라인에 따라 작품을 설치 예정입니다. 작품의 수송에서 발생하는 비용은 작가가 부담합니다. 몇 점의 싱글 채널 비디오 작품들이 한 프로젝터에서 상영될 예정입니다. 작품이 하나의 프로젝터에서 단독으로 설치되어야 하는 경우, 또는 두 대 이상의 프로젝터나 모니터를 필요로 하는 작품의 경우 추가 비용이 발생할 수 있습니다.

– 회화 및 설치 작업
작품의 수송에서 발생하는 비용은 작가가 부담합니다. 평면 작업의 경우 최대 1 m × 1 m의 작품을, 설치 작업의 경우 최대 1.5m x 1.5m x 2m (w x l x h) 이하의 작품을 공모하실 수 있습니다. 벽에 설치하는 작품의 경우 최대 10 kg까지 가능합니다.

*전시 일정: 2018년 9월 20일 – 10월 7일

-영상 온라인 링크 3개 이하, JPG 이미지 (100-500KB 권장) 5개 이하를 500 단어 이하의 글 (선택사항)과 함께 “cicamuseum.submission@gmail.com”으로 보내주세요.
-이메일 제목 란에 “Submission: Art Yellow Book 2018 – 카테고리 – 작가이름 (영문/한글)”라고 적어주세요.

선정된 작가는 비디오 아트/물리적 작품/설치 작품 한 점당 6만5천원, 사진/2D 디지털 작품 한 점당 6만원의 전시 관리 비용을 지불하게 됩니다.
