Deadline: Wed, October 30th, 2024

The Oak Spring Garden Foundation (former estate of Paul and Rachel Mellon near the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia) is offering a residential short course on "Writing the Landscape" from October 7-11, 2024. The seminar will be taught by Gretchen E. Henderson and, in addition to environmental writing, will explore how OSGF’s celebrated art collections, rare books Library, and architecture intersects the estate’s 700-acres of renowned Garden and Biocultural Conservation Farm.

Guests will include OSGF’s founding president, Sir Peter Crane, former Director of the Field Museum in Chicago, Director of the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew (UK), and Dean of Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (now School of the Environment). Participants will be accommodated with private lodging on site and all meals.

More information about this residential short course can be found here. Please spread the word.
