Justified Art! is a juried exhibition inviting artists to contribute to the ongoing dialogue surrounding Dane County’s systemic racial inequities. The exhibition is inspired by "Justified Anger," a Cap Times essay by Rev. Alex Gee detailing his personal experience with racial profiling and discrimination as an African American living in the Madison area. Artists will be selected by a distinguished jury and will have the opportunity to showcase their work at the Overture Center for the Arts. All artists are eligible to apply. Special consideration will be given to African American artists, other artists of color, young artists, and current residents of Dane County.
