 SUMMER 2022 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (Paid)

The Norton Museum of Art Summer Internship Program provides four undergraduate students the opportunity to gain practical art museum experience, engage in intellectual discourse, and develop professional skills. Throughout the seven-week program summer interns will:

·       Work in departments throughout the Museum based on departmental needs.

·       Lead tours through Museum special exhibitions and the Museum Collection.

·       Participate in meetings with art world professionals and visit regional arts institutions.

·       Engage in weekly readings, writing assignments, and discussions of current art historical and museum studies issues.

 

Terms and Eligibility

The program is open to undergraduates at any accredited U.S. college or university, and to those who have earned a B.A. degree within the past year, but are not currently enrolled in graduate school.  All applicants must have successfully completed at least two college-level courses in art history.

Interns will be paid and receive housing in West Palm Beach, FL.

Internship Dates: June 13, 2022 – July 29, 2022

Application Deadline: April 1, 2022

o    Letters must be sealed and signed across the flap by the recommender.  Letters can be sent with your application or separately for receipt by April 1, 2022

Eligibility and Terms

The program is open to high school juniors and seniors and college students. All applicants must have demonstrated their interest in art through art, art history or art education classes.

 Intern will receive a stipend during the 7-week internship at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida.

 

Internship Application Materials: 

Applications must include all materials listed below to be considered.  Application materials will not be returned.

      A typewritten personal statement of no more than 500 words - Please explain your interest in the Norton Museum of Art and this Internship. Briefly state your goals and objectives in obtaining this internship and how this experience may inform your career plans or interests.

      One letter of recommendation from an academic reference

o   Letters must be sealed and signed across the flap by the recommender.  Letters can be sent with your application or separately postmarked by April 1, 2022.

      Resume - Please include internship and work experiences, a list of relevant academic courses, and language skills.

      Official high school/college transcript related to most recent academic year.

 Application materials must be postmarked by April 1, 2022.
