Faculty Subline in Art History, Brooklyn College, CUNY  Fall 2022

Appointment up to two years, renewable every six months

 

The Art Department at Brooklyn College invites applications for a subline, lecturer level, in the history of African American Art and/or the art of the African Diaspora, Asian art, or Art of the Americas. The successful candidate will teach a combination of Art 1010 and courses in their specialty and participate in service in the department, including, but not limited to, committee work and mentoring.

The Art Department at Brooklyn offers a BA in art history and a BA, BFA, and MFA in Studio Art to an ethnically and economically diverse student body that reflects the population of the city of New York.  We are seeking candidates with a commitment to the public university as a vehicle for educational equity, and a strong record of teaching and student engagement. 

QUALIFICATIONS

We seek a scholar with a Ph.D.in art history, or evidence of significant progress towards that degree. A minimum MA in Art History is required. The candidate should have a significant teaching record in both introductory courses and electives.
