OPEN CALL for Arts Writers base din Los Angeles

Prospect Art is seeking arts writers for the ONE WORK series. The ONE WORK publishing program is dedicated to a critical dialogue that focuses on one specific completed work by an artist. This program unites visual artists and critical writers with a monthly online publication. Participating writers will be selected from our open calls’ submissions and must be based in Southern California. You must be interested in highlighting conceptual-based works that approach contemporary issues in a new and exciting way and represent the diverse voices and populations of the world. 

This open call is for any writer enthusiastic about art. We know that people wear many hats in the art world, so we are open to curators, writers, or artists who desire to be part of this project and write an article.

Please prepare the following:

+PDF with contact information and 1-2 page CV or Bio

+Writing Sample (link to published arts writing or PDF of unpublished writing)

+One 500 words sample text about any Prospect Art artist of your choice; you can select an artist previously supported in any of our programming arms. Please review our website and make a selection based on an artist that you respond to that was featured in any of our programs. 

If selected, you will receive:

+A $250 honorarium upon completion/publication of the article.

+An invitation to be part of the NEW WORK: Focus on Los Angeles open call Review Committee for which we offer an additional $200 honorarium.

+The article will be featured on the Prospect Art Website.

+Social media promotion.
