Rage Against the Machine, Part 1: To Be Human in America
Type: Exhibition Opportunities [View all]

America’s motto is "land of the free, home of the brave,” but the country is far from living up to that potential for women, people of color, BIPOC, immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, and others. Over the last twenty years, the Supreme Court has systematically dismantled civil and human rights; a minority of extremists want to strip our secular society of the intellectual and personal freedoms we have left; and police brutality is destroying communities from coast to coast. While the gap between socio-economic groups grows larger, American workers feel threatened and out of control. How and why does “land of the free, home of the brave” fail this country’s population? What does that say about the democratic experiment that our government can no longer provide or protect the liberty it claims to uphold? What has the USA’s brand become?
Pittsburgh Seen is currently accepting submissions that explore the issues that plague America and threaten the socio-political balance of our world in the 21st century.
We are a multi-platform online gallery supporting/promoting early to mid-career artists via thematic exhibitions.
