The String Room Gallery at Wells College (Aurora, NY) is seeking submissions for a Juried Regional Exhibition to open Feb 29, 2024. Wells College is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫɁ (Cayuga) Nation, a member of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.
Any artists identifying as current or recent residents of this region are welcome to submit up to 3 pieces of 2D, 3D, installation, and/or video work. Artwork for consideration should be installation-ready. Each accepted artist will receive a stipend (per W.A.G.E. standards for a small non-for-profit gallery) to cover transport or shipping of artwork.
This exhibition will be juried and curated by students in our spring class, “Professional Practices in the Visual Arts.” It will be administered by faculty in collaboration with the Director of the String Art Gallery.
The deadline for submissions is January 28, 2024. We will notify all artists by Feb 10. Artwork should be received by the gallery by Feb 20. We request that you not submit unless hand delivery or regional shipping on this timeline is possible.
Requested materials:
1-2 digital images per submitted artwork with title, media, size, date completed, and intended mode of delivery for each (include Vimeo/Youtube link if necessary)
Artist Statement (200 words)
Artist Bio (100 words)
CV, 2 page maximum, with contact information (phone, email, address)
Please submit files together in the order requested as a single PDF, no larger than 10mg.
Materials for consideration will be accepted through this submission portal until Feb 1.
