OPEN CALL – In Flux: $1,000 Commission for Visual Artists

Prospect Art invites visual artists worldwide to apply for our 2025 NEW WORK commission under the theme In Flux. One artist will receive a $1,000 commission to create a self-contained project that engages with the liminal space between analog and digital, physical and virtual, handmade and algorithmic. We welcome idea-driven and research-based proposals that explore how we live, create, and connect in a technologically mediated world.

In addition to the selected NEW WORK commission, a small number of applicants will be invited to participate in ONE WORK, Prospect Art’s online series focused on a single artwork, or the 2026 BROADCAST, a curated online screening program organized by our 2025/2026 Curatorial Fellow Julianna Heller.

This opportunity is open to professional visual artists at any career stage, except those currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studio art programs. The application requires a short proposal, work samples, and a $10 administrative fee (fee waivers available upon request).
