The Society of Historians of East European, Eurasian, and Russian Art and Architecture (SHERA) brings together scholars specializing in the art and architecture of Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia, from antiquity to the present.

This year, we are celebrating our 30th anniversary with a year-long speaker series highlighting topics that reflect the region’s diversity, broader methodological approaches, and current trends in art history, material culture studies, and architectural history.

You can learn more about the series here. The series aims to encourage reflection on the place of East European art and architecture within Anglo-American art history and to foster discussion on how our subfield might become more fully integrated into the mainstream of art-historical inquiry.

Events take place online via Zoom, and all are welcome.
