Deadline: Tue, February 10th, 2026
Ever make a piece that shouldn’t work—wrong materials, bad logic, awkward form—but somehow does? Maybe you don’t even fully know why it works. That’s what we’re looking for.
Crackpot Logic is a group exhibition about work that succeeds because it breaks rules—of taste, technique, composition, materials, logic or usefulness. We’re interested in artists who trust instinct over correctness and follow ideas that probably raised a few eyebrows (including their own).
This show highlights personal systems, unconventional reasoning, and experimental processes. Misuse, failure, and questionable decisions are not side effects—they’re the method. Across all media, Crackpot Logic celebrates risk, persistence, and creative leaps that operate on their own strange internal logic.
Media: All visual art media are accepted. Artists must be available to install complicated works. Artists must exhibit original works rather than reproductions or copies. Accepted video works will be projected or shown on a flat screen television depending on available space.
Awards: Cash Awards for first, second and third places. Honorable Mentions are given at the jury panel’s discretion.
Sales: All works must be For Sale. KSC collects payment and retains 40% commission. Include gallery commission when pricing your work. Please be sure the information and price typed into the entry form is correct.
Entry Fee (non-refundable): $35/non-members ($25/members) for 1 to 3 works of art. Each additional entry is $5. Artist may enter no more than 8 works of art. Enter online through our website. The Entry fee can be paid via PayPal in this form, or over the phone by calling K Space Contemporary at 361-887-6834. We also accept in-person payments at the gallery by cash, check or credit card. All entry fees must be paid by Feb. 10th.
