JACKSON, MS: The Hall Gallery, Jackson, MS seeks solo and group exhibition proposals from

artists working in all disciplines.

 

The Millsaps College Art Department seeks proposals for solo and group exhibitions for the Hall Gallery to be displayed during the 2026-28 academic years. Any individual, collective, or group of artists located regionally or nationally (ages 18+) may apply. All media and themes will be considered for exhibition. We’re interested in all types of work that address contemporary issues.

 

The facilities include an expansive gallery with track lighting as well as a smaller enclosed space (The Emerging Space) for work such as video and installation. The works included in your submission should be the majority of the works you exhibit in the gallery. We understand that newer, related works may be included closer to the time of installation, but for advertising and curricular scheduling, please plan on having the majority of your submitted portfolio to be included in the final exhibition.

 

The department can provide up to $500 as a reimbursement stipend to exhibiting artists for things like travel, lodging, and shipping. Artists are responsible for any additional costs to and from the gallery if their work is accepted. Exhibiting artists must be present for installation and provide a gallery talk. If interested, a workshop and/or studio visits with upper-level students on their developing work are encouraged.

 

Proposals will be evaluated based on craft, quality, concept, innovation, and alignment with our courses as well as potential interdisciplinary connections across campus.

 

 

REQUIRED MATERIALS (all items must be submitted as a single PDF document)

•   8-10 digital images labeled with artist name and accompanying image list with artwork title media, dimensions, and date created. (images should be at least 300 DPI and should not exceed 2000 pixels in any direction). If your work is video based, create an the image list (with video stills) and attach links to the media above the title of each work.

•   An exhibition statement that includes what spaces you will use and if you have a preference for a fall or spring. One page max.

•   Résumé and/or CV (may not exceed 3 pages) including a link to artist’s website

•   If you have any special exhibition needs, please mention those somewhere (a lift, special hanging hardware or tools, specific pedestals or vitrines). We will do our best to provide what artists need.

 

Incomplete proposals will not be considered
