‘What Is This Pop ? Pop Design & Pop Art’

The ‘What is this Pop ?’ conference examines the central role played by design in the creation of pop and is co-organised by Professor Anne Massey (Middlesex University) and Professor Alex Seago (Richmond University). The conference is hosted by the MA programme in Art History & Visual Culture of Richmond University, The American International University in London.
Places are free, but early reservation is essential – contact Alex Seago on seagoa@richmond.ac.uk to book a place. The conference coincides with the Barbican Art Gallery’s major retrospective exhibition Pop Art Design (http://www.barbican.org.uk/artgallery/event-detail.asp?ID=14797)and features presentations by experts on pop design including; design critic Rick Poynor and leading expert on pop design, Professor Penny Sparke.
