Resource Directory for Diversity Practices
About the Directory
The Resource Directory for Diversity Practices, compiled by CAA’s Committee on Diversity Practices, provides a range of materials that is useful for incorporating issues about diversity in its various forms into the classroom. The directory offers, as a starting point, a fraction of the myriad available documents addressing topics related to diversity, including ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, disability, and aging. Areas for additional resources include language, religion, and socioeconomic class. A cumulative project, the directory will continue to grow throughout 2012.
The Resource Directory for Diversity Practices is divided into five sections:
- Getting Started
- Classroom and Curricula
- Diversity in Academe
- Images and Documents of Art and Culture
Materials included in their entirety must be in the public domain, contributed by the authors or copyright owners who have given permission to publish on the CAA website, and/or otherwise publicly available. Contributions should be relevant, applicable, and up to date. Older material will be selected on its continuing relevance. Please send your suggestions to both Yasmin Ramirez, independent scholar, and Staci Scheiwiller, California State University, Stanislaus.
If you would like to contribute to the Diversity Syllabi section of the directory, send your syllabus as a Word file to the email addresses above. Please remove any references to specific dates; the names of libraries, museums, and institutions; office hours and location; and similar kinds of information.
